Shopping Trolley and Cart

Shopping Trolley and Cart

Supermarket shopping trolleys and carts from JinTa, a 28-year manufacturer in China. A range of styles and capacities, customizable for supermarkets, chain stores and retail.

The Line

Shopping Trolleys That Keep Customers Moving

Trolley geometry is regional, and so is the name: what a British or Australian store calls a shopping trolley, an American chain calls a shopping cart. The hardware differs too, since the nesting angle, handle height and basket taper that suit a European store are not what an American or Russian chain expects. JTD Jinta builds all five common styles of metal shopping cart, plus plastic bodied trolleys from 100 to 220 litres on Q195 carbon steel frames. Every model can carry your logo, and all of them nest for container loading.

Buyer FAQ

Shopping Trolley and Cart Questions

What is a supermarket trolley called?

Shopping trolley in British and Australian English, shopping cart or grocery cart in American English. Same product. Worth knowing when comparing quotes, because suppliers in different markets describe identical carts with different words.

How much does a supermarket shopping cart cost?

Unit price follows basket volume, frame material and finish, and castor grade. Landed cost is the number that actually matters though — carts nest, so how many fit a container often moves total cost more than unit price does. Tell us volume and quantity and we quote FOB with the container count worked out.

Which trolley size should a store order?

Match it to the basket your shoppers actually fill. Convenience and narrow-aisle formats work at 60-100 L; supermarkets at 125-180 L; hypermarkets go 180-240 L. Oversizing costs twice — more steel per cart, and fewer carts per container.

Metal or plastic trolley — which lasts longer?

Steel frames last longer under abuse and take heavier loads; plastic-bodied trolleys are lighter, quieter and do not rust, which matters in coastal and humid stores. Most chains run steel for the main fleet and plastic where trolleys live outdoors or near a wet section.

Do the trolleys nest for shipping?

Yes, front to back, which is what makes container freight workable. Nesting pitch varies by basket volume and style, so ask us for the pitch of the model you want and we will confirm units per container before you commit.
