Checkout Counters That Finish Your Fit-Out

Checkout counters are sized to the lane, not the catalogue. JTD Jinta builds them in cold rolled steel from 1200 to 4000 mm long, 550 to 1200 mm wide and 850 to 870 mm high, with an optional assistant table around 560x560 mm or 600x600 mm. Counters ship in wooden export cases and assemble on site without special tooling.

Buyer FAQ

Checkout Counter Questions

What is a checkout counter?

The till station at the end of a retail lane — a steel carcass carrying the POS terminal, scanner, cash drawer and a bagging area, sized so the cashier can reach everything without moving. In supermarkets it usually pairs with a belt or a fixed assistant table.

What do you call a checkout counter?

Checkout counter, cashier counter, checkout desk and till point all mean this product. Be careful with "cash counter" — in American English that usually returns money-counting machines, so specify "checkout counter" when briefing a supplier or searching for one.

How much does a checkout counter cost?

Length, whether there is a belt, and the worktop material. A plain flat-top station costs a fraction of a belted lane. Freight is the other half: counters are bulky for their weight and ship in wooden cases, so units per container matters. Send your lane width and POS model and we quote both together.

Can the counter be built around our POS equipment?

Yes. Scanner cut-out, cash drawer position, till side and the direction the customer approaches are all specified per order. Send us the POS model and we build the cut-outs to it — retrofitting a cut-out on site is the one thing that never looks right.
